Valorant, on the other hand, requires you to be tactical and methodical. There's no reason why you have to clear 4 angles, all with different vertical heights, in a single peek. There's already a lack of smoke utility in this game, and the map just exaggerates it. Icebox is not hated because it's different, it's hated because it's bad.

Apr 26, 2021 · Icebox still needs work. Mid needs to find a way to be more viable. Retaking a site on defense is also insanely hard. Split is not always defensive sided. I've honestly had a 50/50 split since the update in games where either side dominates. Also of people I know or have encountered in game seem to favor split over icebox

A Viper Astra KJ Cypher Sova will be able to defend any map in the game, but will also struggle horribly when attacking.

Icebox is honestly a bad map, I don't know what the goal was for the dev, but a map with no choke points and a very open site for post plant isn't interesting. The map doesn't incentivise to actually take the site as you can just plant with a a minimal cover and leave to play post plant.

At first when i started playing valorant like 3 months ago I hated icebox too but as I started playing on icebox more and more (I didnt wanted to but I always got the map) I started loving the map its a good map but the players have set in their mind that the map is bad they dont want to play on it. Play On This Map More And You will Love It

Cypher is awesome on icebox, many choke points great for trips On A site you want to place trips in and around choke points aggressive trips pay off well here so you could try going deeper into main to place trips around the the ult orb etc. keep an eye out for the zipline and trust your trips, even if they break that's still info
