An early morning house fire in Waynesboro has claimed the life of one resident. The Waynesboro Fire Department was called to the scene of a house fire on the 1000 block of Waters Street, Thursday morning just after 5:30 a.

One person is dead after a fire broke out on Jan. 9 at a home near 43rd and Southern Avenues, Phoenix Fire said.

The Vermillion Parish coroners office identified the victim as Larry Campbell. "The victim was using a hot plate. We are not sure if he was using it for warmth or cooking but it hit the sofa, which ignited the fire,
