Baidu, one of China’s most prominent AI companies, launched the Xiaodu AI Glasses at its Baidu World 2024 conference in Shanghai on Tuesday, declaring them to be the "world's first native AI glasses powered by a Chinese large language model.

When the glasses start shipping sometime next year, they could become the Chinese consumers' alternative to Meta's and Snap's devices. Meta teamed up with Ray Ban a few years ago to release a pair of smart sunglasses that can livestream and send photos hands-free.
