John Tortorella didn’t have much of an update on Owen Tippett aside from the news that the 25-year-old winger won’t be available Thursday night. Tippett will miss the Flyers’ game against the Islanders a night after taking a heavy open-ice hit from Devils defenseman Brenden Dillon.

While the Flyers held their own in the first period of Wednesday night’s game at the Prudential Center, the middle frame was something you don’t save the video from. The Devils scored four times, drove Flyers starting goaltender Samuel Ersson from the net and went to a 5-0 payback victory.
