The risk that an increasingly ominous asteroid dubbed 2024 YR4 will crash into Earth in seven years now exceeds the the threat once posed by Apophis.

An asteroid between about 130 and 300 ft. (40 and 90 meters) in diameter has been given a 2.3% chance of it hitting Earth on Dec. 22, 2032.

YR4 has a small chance of hitting Earth in 2032, but as astronomers make more observations about its trajectory, the odds of a collision seem to be increasing
