Dyshidrosis, sometimes called pompholyx or dyshidrotic eczema, is a common chronic dermatitis of the palms and soles that may lead to significant impairment of occupation and quality of life.
The course is frequently chronic. Dyshidrosis can develop into a debilitating disorder. Pompholyx is distinguished from dyshidrosis by a more acute and severe eruption of large bullae on the palms.
