More photos and a video of the new Model Y have been circulating on social media in China as Tesla begins delivering the first cars to dealerships across the country.

Tesla plans to suspend part of the lines manufacturing its recently refreshed Model Y sport utility vehicles in Shanghai for around three weeks over Chinese New Year, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday,

Several sources claim that Tesla has already built the first new Model Y at its Gigafactory in Berlin, Germany. According to German media outlet Handelsblatt, the company was scheduled to start producing the new car, also known by its codename "Juniper", on Tuesday.

The company's Gigafactory in Brandenburg (near the country's capital in Berlin) started building the facelifted electric crossover today.

Tesla unveiled the new Model Y in China and started taking orders in the country and a few other markets that Tesla supplies with its Gigafactory Shanghai. The vehicle was not yet available to order in Europe and North America despite Tesla also producing the Model Y in Germany and the US.

Tesla has introduced an updated version of its Model Y crossover, codenamed "Juniper," in the Chinese market. This marks the first significant refresh of the vehicle since its initial launch in 2019.

The first cars of the updated Model Y were rolling off the line at Tesla's European plant outside of Berlin on Tuesday. But a company spokeswoman said that this does not yet mark the official start of production,

European examples of the updated Model Y Juniper will begin rolling off the production line at Giga Berlin as soon as tomorrow.
