The fourth film in the Paramount Pictures franchise has grossed a series-best $422 million in theaters and generated more than $180 million in home entertainment rentals and purchases.

After previous reporting in December confirmed another Sonic sequel was in the works, Paramount has officially announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will arrive in theaters in March 2027.

Directed by Jeff Fowler, who has directed all three films in the series, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 stars Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, Krysten Ritter, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, with James Marsden with Tika Sumpter with Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves, who joins the all-star cast as Shadow the Hedgehog.

By hook or by crook, even with new owners Skydance bound to take over Paramount this year, there will be a fourth Sonic the Hedgehog with the studio dating it for March 19, 2027. That’s a week before the Easter holiday for those keeping track.
