Barbra Streisand celebrated Richard Perry's "uncanny ability to pick the hits" in a tribute to the late producer, who died this week at the age of 82. Streisand worked with Perry on two albums, Stoney End and Barbra Joan Streisand,

Perry, who started out as a drummer, was behind hits by Carly Simon, Barbra Streisand, Tiny Tim and scores of other singing stars.

Richard Perry, the record producer behind You're So Vain and other hits, worked with some of the greatest artists of his time, including Carly Simon, Rod Stewart and Ringo Starr. He was also behind a near-total reunion of the Beatles three years after the band broke up.
