TEHRAN, Jan. 04 (MNA) – Five civilians died after Israel’s airstrike on a car in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Strikes were also delivered on residential houses in the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone, leaving seven people wounded, the Qatari-based Al Jazeera television channel reported.

On the second day of the New Year, at least 85 people were killed in various attacks across the Gaza Strip, Gaza medical sources told ABC News.

The Israeli military said it targeted militants who had taken part in the Oct. 7, 2023, attack that sparked the war, without providing evidence.

Palestinian health officials said Israeli airstrikes killed at least 17 people late Tuesday in the southern Gaza Strip. The strikes hit the Khan Younis area, including sections where people displaced by more than a year of war were living in tents.
