A sprawling estate in West Sussex has languished on the market for more than a decade, and the owner says it’s all thanks to one famous former resident.

The mansion then operated as a convent in the 1970s until the turn of the century. However, even before that, there was a tragic death. In 1933, a 23-year-old nurse who worked for the residents at the time was found dead on the nearby railway line.

Adele has been accused of damaging the possibility of selling a mansion after she allegedly claimed it was haunted. The Rolling In The Deep singer, 36, lived in a £6 million property in West Sussex for six months in 2012 and told CBS host Anderson Cooper that year that she found the mansion "quite scary" - sparking reports it is haunted.
