Out of curiosity, Heald took a poll to see how many of his followers would actually like to see Carnival host a dog-friendly cruise. Surprisingly, only 3% of people voted in favor of a Carnival dog cruise. Another 31% of people who participated in the poll, which also included other topics, voted “no dog cruise for me.”

Booking a room on a cruise can be a difficult choice for passengers. Typically, customers can choose between a few options, including an exterior room with a balcony, an exterior room with a window and ocean view but no balcony or an interior cabin.

The CDC's full suggestions are in line with the moves Carnival has made on its ships. "Washing hands with soap and water is the best way to get rid of germs in most situations," according to the CDC. Washing your hands is simply more effective. That's why hand-washing stations are posted near Carnival and Royal Caribbean buffets.

Newer cruise ships have balconies and windows in around 70% of their cabins. Those can include interior-facing balconies like the ones Royal Caribbean offers, which on Oasis-Class ships overlook its Central Park and Boardwalk neighborhoods.
