The Philadelphia Flyers have teamed up with the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) to help nine abandoned Great Pyrenees puppies find permanent homes.
Travel really hasn’t been that big of a deal either. In last week’s back-to-back, the Flyers played at the Rangers on Thursday and the Islanders on Friday. That’s only a 30-minute bus ride between venues and they lost both games by a combined score of 9-2.
The Philadelphia Flyers wrapped up a home-and-home set against the New Jersey Devils with a split. After a 4-2 home win on Monday, the Fyers sustained a 5-0 loss at Prudential Center on Wednesday evening.
Bobby Brink and Joel Farabee scored goals 24 seconds apart for the Flyers to put New Jersey at an early deficit by the 11:32 mark of the first. Garnett Hathaway added the Flyers third goal at 2:49 of the second before New Jersey would find a way to capitalize on their own chance.
