The Kraken managed to keep pace Thursday night against the best in the West, but an unlucky bounce in the closing minute allowed Winnipeg to escape with a 2-1 win.
Mark Scheifele's power play goal tied it 1-1 in the second, but with just 27 seconds left, Dylan DeMelo scored the game-winner past Kraken goalie Joey Daccord. It was DeMelo’s third career game-winner and his 600th NHL game.
The Winnipeg Jets will host the Seattle Kraken tonight, having beaten them 4-3 in overtime earlier this season.
The Seattle Kraken travelled to the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 16 for the last game of their road trip. The game was tied 1-1 heading into the third. It was ultimately the Jets who took the win, 2-1, at the last possible second.
