Defending overall World Cup champion Lara Gut-Behrami of Switzerland gained her first win of the season, taking the super-G event at Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Sunday, with American Lindsey Vonn finishing 13th.

Gut-Behrami, who won gold in the event at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, finished 0.35 seconds ahead of Norwegian Kajsa Vickhoff Lie.

Germany -- Swiss ski star Lara Gut-Behrami won the last women’s World Cup super-G before the world championships for her first victory of the season, while Lindsey Vonn placed 13th on Sunday.

Fellow Parkite and U.S. Ski Team member Lauren Macuga finished sixth Saturday and crossed the finish line Sunday three tenths of a second ahead of Vonn in 12th. Vonn is currently ranked 35th overall in the world and Macuga 12th. Each skier had their best Cup of the season earlier this month in St. Anton, Austria.
