LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sean Baker won best director at the Oscars on Sunday for “Anora,” bookending a dominant awards season for the American filmmaker whose stories seek to humanize sex workers and immigrants.

Sean Baker creates history at the prestigious Oscars 2025 by taking home as many as five awards (so far) out of six nominations for his highly successful romcom titled Anora, including the Best Director.
