Belichick’s base salary is $1 million annually, paid monthly. On top of that, he’ll rake in a supplemental income of $9 million each year for promotional and media duties. These include appearances at events sponsored by UNC’s advertisers and donors, press conferences, and other special engagements.
But that wasn’t the only big news out of Chapel Hill. North Carolina also announced a big change to its 2025 college football season opener, which will also serve as Belichick’s highly anticipated college coaching debut following 29 years as an NFL head coach.
