CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Myles Straw, a Gold Glove centerfielder for Cleveland in 2022, is a Guardian no more. Straw, 30, was traded to Toronto Friday for a player to be named later. He only played 7 games for Cleveland last season, spending most of the year at AAA Columbus.
Straw, who won a Gold Glove award in 2022, was placed on waivers last Spring but was not claimed by any other Major League team. He spent the majority of the 2024 season in the Cleveland organization at Triple-A Columbus. The veteran outfielder posted a batting average of .240 with 3 home runs, 47 RBIs with 30 stolen bases.
Myles Straw had become an afterthought for the Cleveland Guardians after barely appearing with them during the 2024 MLB season.
