An entrance gate to Patrick Space Force Base has since reopened following a hours-long investigation into a suspicious vehicle, according to officials. Patrick Space Force has not said what the apparent threat was,

There is an active investigation at Patrick Space Force Base, which has closed a portion of A1A and at least one entrance gate to the base.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office has A1A closed north of the Pineda Causeway and south of The Tides Restaurant on Thursday afternoon. That's near Patrick Space Force Base. Deputies did not say why the area is closed other than "law enforcement activity.

Access to Patrick SFB is currently limited to the South Gate only due to an ongoing investigation at the East Gate. For everyone’s safety and security, the area has been closed to ensure the investigation proceeds without interruption,
