The following are four of the snowiest winters on record in Vermont, according to the National Weather Service website: 2007–2008 : Burlington, Vermont had 103.4 inches of snow during this winter season. 2010–2011 : Burlington, Vermont had 97.9 inches of snow during this winter season. Feb. 5, 1995 : 42 inches in Orleans County.

This week, various states from the Midwest to the Northeast are bracing for snow and ice storms, including New Hampshire. On Thursday, Feb. 6, the state is expected to see a wintry mix, starting with heavy snow throughout the day before turning into freezing rain in the late afternoon.

There is another snow storm on the way to Boston and most of Massachusetts this weekend. It's not a blizzard or a nor'easter but it will likely be more snow than we have had in one storm in years.The last time Boston received 6" or more in one storm was Feb.
