Winter Storm Warnings in 26 States As 14 Inches of Snow To Hit
Winter storm warnings were in place for 26 states across the U.S. from the National Weather Service (NWS) early Friday, with up to 14 inches of snow forecast for some parts of the country. Snow can cause travel disruptions and create hazardous driving conditions.
UPDATE: The winter storm warning is anticipated to expire at 7 a.m., says the NWS
"Temperatures remain below freezing across much of the area. Slick roads and areas of black ice will continue through the morning. Please use caution if you have to be out on the road or delay travel until temperatures warm. Slow down, use caution, and travel only if necessary this morning," states the NWS Morristown TN.
UPDATE: Winter storm warning for Ashe and Watauga counties until Saturday morning, says the NWS
An updated winter storm warning was issued by the NWS Blacksburg VA on Saturday at 3:52 a.m. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch for Ashe and Watauga counties. In Virginia, Grayson, Smyth, and Tazewell counties until 7 a.m. this morning.
