Udhayanidhi Stalin - son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and the state's Sports Minister - is set to be promoted to the Deputy Chief Minister's post, sources told NDTV Wednesday, saying a formal announcement is expected from Governor RN Ravi.

Amid ongoing speculation about the possible promotion of Udhayanidhi Stalin to Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the current Sports Minister.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, is poised to take on a significant new role as the deputy chief minister of the state. The 46-year-old’s political journey has seen steady progression, culminating in this anticipated promotion within the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).

Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin refuted speculation about his elevation as Deputy Chief Minister, emphasizing that such decisions are solely the prerogative of the Chief Minister. He urged the media not to speculate on his behalf.

DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin is likely to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Currently holding the position of Sports and Youth Welfare Minister in Tamil Nadu government, Udhayanidhi’s possible elevation is expected in the next 24 hours, India Today reported citing sources.
