Utah leaders, locals and longtime attendees of the Sundance Film Festival are making their final push to keep the world-renowned independent film festival in the state as its directors consider uproot

When Sundance leaves in 2027, attendees are weighing the pros and cons of the three finalists, Salt Lake City, Boulder, and Cincinnati.

While the Sundance Film Festival mulls a big move for 2027 , the 2025 program is under way. The event’s 41st edition kicked off January 23 in Utah, and you can look below for all of Deadline’s reviews from the fest so far.

Utah Gov. This year saw a slightly subdued Sundance with more first-time directors, resulting in slightly less star power on Main Street—until Sunday, at least, when Jennifer Lopez arrived for the premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman.

So far, the Sundance Film Festival has seen a wide variety of celebrity fashion, from gowns to fur-covered clogs.
