The organizers behind Comic-Con have agreed to continue hosting the world-renowned pop-culture convention in San Diego through 2027, Mayor Todd Gloria announced Tuesday.

"Comic-Con is part of San Diego's identity, and I couldn't be more thrilled to announce that it will remain here through 2027," Mayor Todd Gloria said.

Organizers signed a new agreement Tuesday to keep one of San Diego's largest events, Comic-Con, in the city through at least 2027.

Comic-Con will stay in San Diego for at least three more summers. The organizers of the annual four-day convention that since the 1970s has grown to be one of the most anticipated events in popular culture announced Tuesday the signing of a new agreement to remain in San Diego through 2027.

Mayor Todd Gloria announced that Comic-Con International will continue to host the pop culture convention in San Diego through 2027.

The internationally-recognized convention that’s been held in San Diego for over 50 years is a major economic boost for the region.
