U.S. companies added 63,000 workers in February, the strongest monthly gain in seven months, according to payroll processor ADP’s employment report released Wednesday. The figure marked a sharp rebound from January’s downwardly revised 11,000 jobs and topped the Dow Jones consensus estimate of 48,000, CNBC reported.
Wage gains for workers who stayed in their jobs held at a solid 4.5% year-over-year, yet ADP’s Nela Richardson and NerdWallet’s Elizabeth Renter both cautioned that the concentration of hiring in just a few sectors does not signal a broadly strong labor market.
