The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a winter storm warning for Fairfield, Pickaway and more than two dozen other southern and western Ohio counties beginning at 10 a.m. The warning is in effect to midnight Monday as the region expects to be hit with 5 to 9 inches of snow,

A mix of snow and sleet continues from about 8 p.m. Sunday through Monday overnight. An additional 3-5"+ of sleet and snow accumulation is forecast during this time. Winds begin to get quite gusty. Gusts to 50 mph are possible and will result in power outages. Roads will be difficult to navigate with blowing and drifting snow, and poor visibility.

After central Ohio saw its first decent blast of snow for the season Friday, another system will move into the region by Sunday evening. This system is expected to bring heavy snow and even the chance for some freezing rain in select spots.
