"At this time, there are no known or active threats towards Chairwoman Nora Vargas or any of the county supervisors," said the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
The Democrat, who spearheaded legislation to protect immigrants in the California county, has stepped down from her post amid personal and security threats.
Supervisors Terra Lawson-Remer and Joel Anderson were sworn in for their second terms. Vargas did not attend the ceremony. Her former employees said they had not heard from her.
