A man was arrested on suspicion of arson on Thursday afternoon in the Woodland Hills near the Kenneth Fire, which had started earlier in the afternoon.

Amid the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, police confirmed they’ve taken a suspect into custody for “possible arson” near the Kenneth Fire in California’s Woodland Hills.

A man has been arrested in Los Angeles after neighbors said they saw him trying to start a fire with a “propane tank or flamethrower."

The suspect was detained near the Kenneth Fire, which the LAPD believes was intentionally set, a police official has said.

The suspect, who was not named, was arrested near the Kenneth Fire at about 4:30 p.m. when police were called out to a report of a man attempting to light a fire in the 21700 block of Ybarra Road in Woodland Hills. Police were helped by residents who secured the man until law enforcement arrived.
