County Board chairman says he's talked to NHL commissioner. 'Visionaries' on advisory committee will work on next steps.

Maricopa County will form an advisory committee to explore options to bring hockey to the region after the Arizona Coyotes relocated last year.

The new head of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors announced Monday that he will prioritize bringing a professional hockey team back to the Valley.

The newly elected Chair of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is working to bring professional hockey back to Arizona. He says he's had several conversations with the NHL Commissioner about finding an owner and arena location.

Supervisor Thomas Galvin made the announcement during the swearing in ceremony in downtown Phoenix for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. During the same meeting, Galvin was elected chairman of the board.
