A childcare center in Sydney was set alight early morning on Tuesday and antisemitic graffiti was sprayed on the wall, authorities said, the latest in a spate of attacks in Australia targeting the Jewish community.

The crimes have included torching a child care center, burning cars in largely Jewish neighborhoods and smearing red paint and graffiti on synagogues in Sydney, while a synagogue in Melbourne was firebombed in December,

Four vehicles and the former home of a Jewish community leader were defaced in Sydney early Friday, with two cars set alight, in the latest antisemitic attack condemned by Australian authorities, who vowed to “hunt down” the perpetrators.

A childcare centre at Maroubra in Sydney's south-east has been set alight and spray painted with anti-Semitic graffiti. The building is a short distance away from the Maroubra Synagogue on Anzac Parade.
